Your initial appointment will begin with a thorough medical and dental history in addition to an oral exam. We want to get to know you and we invite you to share your thoughts and concerns with us. In our opinion, an informed and involved patient is most likely to achieve the highest level of healthcare. The oral exam will include hard tissue (teeth) and soft tissue (gums) as well as screen for oral cancer. A preliminary consultation explaining your diagnosis and treatment options will be discussed at the end of your first visit. Occasionally, treatment can be performed the same day as the consultation. However, a complex medical history or treatment plan will require an evaluation and a second appointment to provide treatment on a separate day.
Please assist us by providing the following information at the time of your initial visit:
If you have recent x-rays from a previous dentist or physician, you may request that they forward them to our office. If there is not enough time, please pick them up and bring them to our office. If additional films are necessary, they can be taken at our facility.
